UNIBIO CONTRIBUTES TO WHITE PAPER ”PRODUCING MORE WITH LESS”

Yesterday, Producing More with Less was launched at the Danish UN Mission’s office in New York, where 60 people participated. Since the paper is intended as a contribution to solving the UN’s World Sustainable Development Goal, it seemed fitting to launch it while the UN High-Level Political Forum takes place in New York these days (the UN High-Level Political Forum is an annual event, where selected world goals are being evaluated).

As part of the launch, a panel debate was held, composed of Daniel Crespo Calleja, Director-General of the European Commission DG ENV (Directorate-General for Environment), Karen Hækkerup, Managing Director of Agriculture and Food, and Adam Monroe, President of the Americas, Novozymes. The debate was moderated by Andrew Steer, President, and CEO of the World Resources Institute. In addition, the welcoming speech was conducted by the State of Greens Director, Finn Mortensen together with the Danish UN Mission’s Ambassador, Peter Lehmann Nielsen.

Denmark’s solutions were highly praised by Director General Daniel Crespo and there was great interest from the external guests who participated in the launch. The participants emphasized that the paper included concrete solutions to global challenges.
